The Work
Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a System Engineer/Modeler for the Acoustic Rapid COTS Insertion (ARCI) program to oversee our Modeling and System Management efforts in an Agile DevSecOps program environment. The successful candidate will lead a team of junior staff and be responsible for directing and prioritizing system management activities, defining and improving model structures, and driving the adoption of behavior modeling across our Undersea Warfare organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the Product Owner for baseline system management, directing and prioritizing stand-up activities and resource allocation (Structural Modeling)
Modeling Process Owner and Monthly Merge Management coordinator.
Provide expertise in SysML and other modeling languages, tools, and interfaces
Define and improve model structures and architectures to support various program deliveries including:
Technical Insertion Periods including both Hardware and Software
Future Technical Insertion Design and collaboration with Hardware team
Cloud Transition (Native Loads to Cluster Hosted Apps)
String Design to include requirements modelling from sensor interfaces (water) to operator console presentation (glass)
Collaborate with multi-discipline, cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to leverage and commonize models between the program model for SONAR subsystem and a Federated Model across all submarine organizations/teams
Quarterly Prioritization discussions with Senior Leadership members on Model directions/prioritizations and enhancements of Model artifacts ensuring alignment with program goals, as well as, providing quantitative evidence of new capabilities
Review and provide feedback on code development in GitLab for plug-in development
Devise and implement strategies to increase behavior modeling adoption and engagement across the organization specifically in the Hardware, Signal Processing and Logistics teams without compromising model integrity as a digital twin.
Engage with Navy customers and stakeholders to promote the use of modeling environments and tools (Cameo Collaborator) for reviews, information exchange, and establishing a single source of truth
Stay up to date with the latest developments in SysML language, tools, and interfaces with other digital transformation technologies
Support stretch tasking across Undersea Warfare programs to include R&A and proposal efforts

Basic Qualifications

Who you are
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 5+ years of related experience or equivalent education/experience.
Knowledge of systems engineering processes, requirements engineering, interface design, system integration and verification/test to accommodate End to End Systems Engineering.
Experience with model-based languages such as SysML or UML
Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communications skills
This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Desired skills

Experience with Model-Based Engineering applications and technologies such as Cameo, MagicDraw or Rhapsody
Familiarity with Linux, Git, and/or Matlab
Familiarity with C++, Javascript, Python, or SQL scripting languages
Familiarity with Jira and/or Redmine project management tools
OCSMP SysML certification, SysML training course, or coursework involving SysML

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement
