Job Title: Audio Visual Manager

Location: Kansas City, MO

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Purpose of Job: To lead the Audio Visual(AV)Group for the Informational Technology Department and serve as the primary point of contact for all AV technology support-related issues.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The Audio Visual (AV) Manager is responsible for overseeing the setup, maintenance, and operation of all audio-visual equipment and systems within an organization. This role involves managing AV projects, coordinating with various departments, ensuring high-quality AV support for events and meetings, and leading a team of AV technicians. The AV Manager ensures seamless AV experiences by staying updated with the latest technologies and maintaining efficient AV operations.

  • AV Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the AV department, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Develop and implement AV policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality. Manage the inventory of AV equipment, including purchasing, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Event Support: Plan and coordinate AV requirements for events, conferences, meetings, and presentations. Provide on-site AV support during events to ensure seamless operation. Troubleshoot and resolve any AV issues promptly to minimize disruption.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and evaluate a team of AV technicians. Schedule and delegate tasks to ensure adequate coverage for all AV needs. Foster a collaborative and professional team environment.
  • Project Management: Manage AV projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Collaborate with other departments and external vendors to ensure project requirements are met. Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Technical Expertise: Maintain in-depth knowledge of AV systems, including audio, video, lighting, and control systems. Stay updated on the latest AV technologies and industry trends. Provide technical guidance and recommendations for AV system improvements and upgrades.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients. Consult with clients to determine their AV needs and provide appropriate solutions. Address client feedback and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of AV equipment, maintenance schedules, and event support activities. Prepare reports on AV operations, project status, and team performance. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to AV operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Audio-Visual Technology, Information Technology, or equivalent 7 years experience AV support field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in AV management or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting various AV systems and equipment.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Certifications:

  • AV technologies (e.g., CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I) is a plus.
