Description

SAIC is seeking a highly motivated DevOps Cloud Computing Engineer to join our CloudOne team on the Government A1 Enclave by CloudOne project. The Air Force A1 Enclave by Cloud One Program is an existing global, interconnected, virtualized hybrid, and IT infrastructure that hosts mission systems, applications, services, and data in support of DoD Services and Agencies.

This candidate will be part of a team working with Government Stakeholders responsible for the dedicated Splunk Engineer design, planning, management, support, and oversight of the A1 Enclave CloudOne Infrastructure. The A1 Enclave team will configure and troubleshoot cloud, virtual, and physical hardware and software systems to proactively identify and resolve operational, tooling and process inefficiencies.

Candidates for this position will be expected to work hands on to include interaction with the team. This position is 100% remote with some on-call after hours support.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Automate deployment and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes
  • Develop scripts and workflows as needed for automated deployment (IaC/CaC).
  • Understand, evaluate, and suggest opportunities for modernization of enterprise platform services for Cloud One platform (Jenkins, Artifactory, Trend Micro, etc.)
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align technical solutions to meet mission and organizational needs
  • Improve/automate routine tasks.
  • Mentor system administrators and DevOps engineers with a focus towards increased automation/adherence to industry best practices.
  • Design AWS environments and topologies, with an eye towards future multi-cloud adoption strategies.
  • Integrate a multi-region AWS enterprise platform.
  • Implement key features/architectural components in IaC/CaC/scripting languages (Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, CloudFormation, Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell).

Qualifications

Required Clearance:
  • Active Interim Secret clearance to start; Ability to obtain a Secret clearance required to maintain employment.

Required Certifications:
  • Security + or higher certification.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience; Master's and three (3) years of experience. Additional years of experience may substitute in lieu of degree.

Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience with: AWS, Networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, SQL, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, and Guacamole.
  • Experience implementing and integrating DevSecOps tool chains for cloud to include some of the following:
    • Kubernetes cluster design, deployment, operations, and sustainment, including knowledge of key CNCF-graduated projects such as Istio
    • Project Management Tools (e.g. Atlassian Tools, GitLab, Artifactory)
    • Cloud-Native Monitoring Tools (e.g. AWS CloudWatch, Grafana stack)
    • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (e.g. Apache Guacamole, Amazon Workspaces, Azure Virtual Desktop, etc.)
    • Identity Provider/Broker authentication flows (SSO, SAML, OIDC)
  • Intermediate knowledge of standard DoD regulatory frameworks for securing cloud infrastructure (NIST 800-53, CIS benchmarks, application STIGs, etc.) with a desire to learn more about and build secure, maintainable applications.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
