Our client is seeking a talented Mid-Senior Software Engineer to join our data infrastructure; team and contribute to building operational improvements for our Cassandra clusters.; This contract engagement, offering the opportunity to work on; mission-critical distributed systems that power Client's global streaming platform.
Job Description:
About the Opportunity; You'll be working on building operational improvements for Cassandra clusters and contributing; to the Cassandra fleet's control plane and ecosystem. This role offers the chance to impact; Client's data infrastructure at a massive scale, supporting millions of users worldwide.;
Key Focus Areas:
- Cassandra cluster optimization and operational improvements
- Control plane development for Cassandra fleet management
- Data ecosystem enhancement and tooling
- Scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience operating and supporting scalable, fault-tolerant, mission-critical; distributed systems in production;
- Strong proficiency in Java and Python both languages required;
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field;
- US-based location with availability during US business hours;
- Data space experience with large-scale data processing and storage systems;
Highly Preferred:
- Cassandra experience - operating, tuning, and supporting Cassandra data stores in;
- Experience with distributed database technologies and NoSQL systems;
- Knowledge of data infrastructure, ETL pipelines, and data processing frameworks;
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure);
- Understanding of microservices architecture and containerization;
Technical Skills:
- Programming Languages: Java, Python (both required);
- Database Technologies: Cassandra (strongly preferred), other NoSQL databases;
- Infrastructure: Distributed systems, cloud platforms, containerization;
- Tools & Frameworks: Data processing frameworks, monitoring and observability tool
