Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team onsite in Sawyer, MI.

The Accounting Manager will oversee key accounting functions including Accounts Receivable, Sales, Cost, and Inventory Reporting.

This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy of financial records, supporting month-end close, and driving process improvements.

This is a full-time, exempt position with standard working hours of Monday Friday, 7:45 A.M. 4:30 P.M. (45-minute lunch break). Shifts may vary based on business needs.

Reports to: Plant Controller

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end reconciliations and assist with the month-end closing process.
  • Reconcile sub-ledgers, accounts, and transactions to the general ledger; investigate and resolve variances.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries as required.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and assist with depreciation entries.
  • Process A/R payments and reconcile Amazon and PayPal accounts.
  • Provide backup support for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
  • Prepare and maintain quarterly royalty reports.
  • Generate sales and gross margin reports by product line and reconcile to GL.
  • Update and revise product costs, considering changes in production, materials, and BOMs.
  • Review and verify inventory valuation; reconcile to perpetual inventory.
  • Support physical inventory counts and cycle count valuation processes.
  • Assist with external and internal audits by preparing and providing required documentation.
  • Maintain and update financial and non-financial reporting spreadsheets.
  • Drive efficiency and process improvements, including automation through system enhancements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
  • 3+ years of finance and cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment (required).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong knowledge of accounting software.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professional judgment.

Work Environment

  • Position is 100% onsite in Sawyer, MI.
  • Work is performed in both an office and a warehouse/manufacturing setting.
  • Requires use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and filing systems.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor required.

Schedule

  • Monday Friday | 7:45 A.M. 4:30 P.M. (45-minute lunch).
  • No travel is expected for this position.
