Role/Responsibilities

  • Application support and enhancement for enterprise integration platforms Kafka, Kong API Management (APIM), and Boomi across production and sub-production environments.
  • Handle ITSM incidents, service requests, change, problem, and RCA management for all supported integration platforms.
  • Support Kafka configurations, manage platform stability, topic configurations, and operational changes in prod and sub-prod.
  • Own Boomi platform infrastructure accountability for both prod and sub-prod; support production deployments and production infrastructure updates, while partnering with Dev teams for application-level changes.
  • Support Kong APIM production deployments via Jenkins, including merging requests, validating deployments on the UI, and handling sensitive and non-sensitive changes.
  • Perform API key updates and configuration changes in production for Kong, coordinating with Dev and DevOps teams where required.
  • Manage and support secrets, certificates, and key rotations using Azure Key Vault for integration platforms and APIs.
  • Perform production Key Vault updates (keys, secrets, certificates) in line with security and change management processes.
  • Support integration workloads running on AKS, including coordination for deployments, configuration updates, and platform validation.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, and availability; proactively detect and resolve integration issues.
  • Implement and enforce observability standards (logging, monitoring, alerting, dashboards).
  • Define and uphold integration standards, governance, and operational best practices.
  • Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base documentation to support operational excellence.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, Jenkins optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs, SLOs, and operational KPIs.

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience supporting Kafka, Kong APIM, and/or Boomi in production environments.
  • Experience with Jenkins-based deployment pipelines and production change validation.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and messaging systems.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed systems and integrations.
  • Working knowledge of Linux, networking fundamentals, and cloud platforms.
  • Working knowledge of AKS concepts: clusters, namespaces, pods, services, ingress, scaling, and configuration management.
  • Understanding of secure secret management for containerized and API-based platforms.
  • Familiarity with AKS monitoring and logging.

Good to Have

  • Experience with ServiceNow ITSM / ITOM processes.
  • Knowledge of API security concepts (OAuth, mTLS, rate limiting, key management).
  • Exposure to CI/CD automation and scripting.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native and containerized platforms.

Experience working with cross-functional Dev, DevOps, and vendor teams

Pay Range in California

Base Salary: $120 -154K

In addition, this position qualifies for benefits like health insurance, paid time off (PTO), 401(K). Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, education, and/or to comply with federal or state law.
