Associate Aerodynamics Engineer

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring an Aerodynamics Engineer (Associate) into the Aero Performance organization based in Everett, WA. This role will support the Competitive Analysis & Product Evaluation (CAPE) team.

Aero Performance CAPE is part of the larger Aero Performance organization within BCA Flight Sciences. Aerodynamic Performance is responsible for performance data products for all Boeing Commercial Aircraft. This role perform aero performance analysis in support of the CAPE team.

The CAPE team is a multi-functional team that supports Product Strategy, Product Development, and Sales & Marketing with assessments of competitor aircraft. These assessments begin with the product definition, and end with an airplane performance assessment and comparison to similar Boeing aircraft.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Performs aero performance analysis to support Aero Performance CAPE statement of work.
    • Low speed performance assessments
    • High speed performance assessments
    • Trade study support
    • Performance database development
  • Contributes to improving aero performance tools and processes.
  • Works under general supervision.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering.
  • 2+ years of related work experience.
  • Experience with aero performance analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Master's or PhD in aerospace engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience working on multi-functional teams.
  • Direct experience with Competitive Analysis.
  • Knowledge of product development, product strategy, or sales & marketing.
  • Proficient with at least one of the modern programming languages (Python, C++, etc).
