Job Details

Process Controls Engineer:

Most important~ FIELD background. Will be troubleshooting panels and circuits for low voltage 24-48. Must have Hands on experience performing commissioning activity, will handle installation challenges, know NEC, trouble shooting and maintenance Instrumentation or Control Circuits. Will be responding to outages. Work alone in field independently. Programming is secondary.

  • Perform field installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage electrical systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues in field equipment and control systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70 standard.
  • Understand and apply area classification principles in hazardous environments.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other field personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including service reports and inspection logs.
  • Travel to various field sites in southern California as required.

Must Have

- 5+ years of hands-on electrical experience, preferably in field service roles.

- Proficient in low voltage troubleshooting and electrical circuit analysis.

- Solid understanding of NEC / NFPA 70 and hazardous area classifications (Class I, Division 1 & 2).

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and in team settings.

- Valid driver s license and ability to travel to field locations.

- Ability to read, interpret, and markup P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control logic diagrams.

- Certifications in electrical safety or hazardous area work (e.g., CompEx, ISA, etc.). -

- Experience with process instrumentation, control systems, PLCs, HMIs is a plus.

- B.S. in engineering discipline

- Familiarity with oil and gas field environments is beneficial but not required.

- Willingness to travel to field sites for commissioning and support (A large portion of southern California)
