Position Overview
The SAP Carve-out Project Manager will lead divestiture coordination from the retaining entity's side under a Transitional Services Agreement (TSA), supporting the divested entity's separation of SAP systems from on-premise to SAP Private Cloud Edition (PCE) via a Systems Integrator (SI) partner and SNP tools. This role emphasizes TSA governance, access provisioning, functional validation, and risk mitigation to ensure business continuity for the retaining entity while enabling the divested entity's independence. The focus remains on seamless handoffs, compliance, and post-separation stability without primary migration execution.​
 
Key Responsibilities
Govern TSA obligations, providing retaining entity support for SAP Basis access, infrastructure, and integrations during the divested entity's SI-led carve-out using SNP for data transformation.​
Coordinate system separation planning, including company code isolation, master data handoff, and cutover alignment to the divested entity's PCE target.​
Facilitate cross-entity collaboration with the divested team, SI partner, and business owners for functional process validation and data integrity checks.​
Track progress through RAID logs, executive dashboards, and joint governance meetings to resolve dependencies and TSA timelines.​
Ensure retaining entity adherence to SAP licensing, security audits, and regulations, minimizing stranded costs or operational disruptions.​​
Identify and mitigate risks to retaining operations, such as downtime or TSA extensions, with contingency measures.​
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or related field; PMP certification required.​
8+ years in IT project management, including 4+ years on SAP divestitures or carve-outs from the retaining/seller perspective.​
Expertise in SAP landscapes (ECC/S/4HANA, Basis, key modules like FI/CO/SD) and on-premise to cloud/PCE transitions for validation oversight.​
Experience managing TSAs in divestitures, with strong stakeholder alignment across retaining and divested entities plus SI partners.​
Proficiency in communication for executive updates and multi-party coordination in high-stakes environments.​
Preferred Skills
Awareness of SNP or similar migration tools and SI-driven migrations for carve-outs.​​
Proficiency with MS Project or Planview for TSA scheduling.​
Knowledge of data cleansing, tenant separation, and divestiture governance.
