Senior Systems Programmer (Onsite)

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and control systems software for computers, such as operating systems, networked systems, and database systems
• Provide technical and disaster recovery expertise for systems software
• Identify, isolate, and fix software problems and implement solutions
• Determine which issues are the vendor's responsibility and refer to them accordingly
• Coordinate installation, testing, and maintenance of systems software and schedule system downtime to minimize user impact
• Review customer requests, security patches, and audit requirements for changes or additions to systems, and evaluate feasibility to decide how/if to handle the request while keeping a suitable/appropriate overall systems infrastructure
• Cross train in all areas of systems programming to efficiently perform on-call rotation
• Provide technical and disaster recovery support for systems software

Skills and Qualifications:

• 6 years of experience with IT work, including varied systems programming experience
• 3+ years of CICS experience supporting large CICS environment
• z/OS mainframe experience
• Strong skills in analytical and logical thinking
• Strong understanding of systems programming, graphical user interfaces, control languages, development, quality assurance, and implementation strategies of systems software
• In-depth knowledge of currently used systems programming productivity tools and their use
• Ability to review and analyze systems software and recommend performance solutions

Education:

• Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or other job-related field OR 4 years of job-related work experience

Location: Columbia, SC.
This job is primarily an onsite role. You will be required to work at an onsite location.

The salary range for this position is $69,000 - $84,000. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.
