Worldwide Technology is looking for a Ericsson Resident Engineer. This job is part of WWT’s Strategic Resourcing services. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT’s preferred partners.

Ericsson Resident Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking two highly skilled Senior Resident Engineers to support the deployment and maintenance of wireless network infrastructure and applications. These roles require deep hands-on experience with application deployment in telecom environments, specifically involving Ericsson and Nokia OEM solutions. Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of containerized applications, virtualization technologies, and 4G/5G wireless systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and deploy telecom applications in a production environment.
  • Work directly with Ericsson and Nokia platforms; preference for Ericsson experience.
  • Perform application deployment using Red Hat OpenShift and other container orchestration tools.
  • Virtualize and manage containerized applications in telecom environments.
  • Support 4G/5G network functions and configurations.
  • Configure and troubleshoot basic IP routing protocols, especially BGP.
  • Understand and manage IP address planning and network segments.
  • Collaborate with OEMs, focusing on Ericsson SGW or Nokia components.
  • Utilize experience with OpenStack for managing cloud infrastructure and resources.
  • Assist in CIQ (Customer Information Questionnaire) creation and validation.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for the IMS Core network elements.
  • Deliver engineering expertise in wireless communications and telecom network routing.
  • Participate in cross-functional planning, documentation, and coordination with Verizon teams.
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision in a remote work environment.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in wireless communications or telecom engineering.
  • Direct experience with Ericsson or Nokia OEMs (Ericsson preferred).
  • Strong understanding of Red Hat OpenShift, OpenStack, and virtualized/containerized environments.
  • Experience with 4G LTE and 5G network architecture and deployment.
  • Working knowledge of basic IP routing concepts, including BGP.
  • Familiarity with IP networking, subnetting, and addressing.
  • Proficiency with CIQ creation and associated tools/documentation.
  • Good understanding of IMS Core components and deployment models.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
