Network Engineer II

Description

• Performing hands-on Research and Development (R&D) to create a prototype that will support Surface Navy networks
• Designing, evaluating, recommending, implementing, and documenting network architecture
• Ensuring design, installation, and configuration are compliant with all Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) guidelines
• Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including firewalls and switches
• Ensuring network is functionally capable of fulfilling all system requirements as identified by the customer
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex network problems
• Maintaining complete technical documentation
• Serving as the Subject Matter Expert regarding these responsibilities
• Monitoring Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) and tracking corrective actions until all actions are closed

Requirements

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline
• Two to four years of work-related experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to use a computer and computer software programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience with production and basic engineering tasks supporting multi-disciplinary teams on control system testing, equipment commissioning, and field testing
• Must possess a security clearance at the Secret level

Desired Skills

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
• Experience with Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client, and network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g.. Wireshark, SolarWinds network tools)

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL
