Senior Systems Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in West Valley City, UT that is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join their dynamic Systems Engineering team.

Summary:
This is a critical role focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining our Linux-based infrastructure and associated technologies. This person will work hands-on with containers, cloud platforms, and automation tools-owning infrastructure solutions end-to-end while playing a key role in shaping the future of our environment. Responsibilities:
* Architect and maintain a secure, high-performing Linux infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments
* Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Docker
* Build and manage infrastructure in AWS and Alibaba Cloud, ensuring resilience and scalability
* Design and implement robust automation for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Terraform and Ansible
* Write and maintain system automation and monitoring scripts in Bash and Python
* Lead proactive monitoring and troubleshooting efforts to ensure system reliability and uptime
* Develop and manage enterprise-grade backup and disaster recovery strategies
* Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, delivering prompt and effective responses to critical issues

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience administering Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux, or similar) in production environments
* 5+ years of scripting experience (Bash and Python), focused on automation, monitoring, and system management
* 3+ years of hands-on experience with containerization technologies, especially Kubernetes and Docker
* 2+ years of experience working with Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible
* Proven ability to automate complex infrastructure workflows and reduce manual intervention
* Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS required; experience with Alibaba Cloud is a plus)
* A proactive mindset and a drive to lead initiatives and mentor peers-leadership experience or ambition is highly valued
* Have a passion for building scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
