Role: PeopleSoft HRMS Developer / Analyst - Benefits, Payroll & Human Resources Support

Job Description
Responsible for supporting a Peoplesoft HRMS environment working with business users and Information Systems (I/S) team members to troubleshoot and correct issues identified by business users. Assignments will be prioritized by business and I/S management and may include general support work as well as project work consisting of custom development of new functions and/or interfaces. All development work will be in full compliance with the established Software Development Lifecycle procedures.
Candidate must be proficient in problem solving in a Peoplesoft HRMS environment, requirements analysis, preparation of technical/functional specifications and estimates, identification of alternatives and recommending solutions to meet business requirements relating to existing systems and interfaces. Candidate should be familiar with the technical configuration and business use of PeopleSoft Human Resources, Benefits and Payroll applications. Experience supporting Peoplesoft Financials General Ledger is desired.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- This position will have regular contact with business and I/S team members to discuss assigned tasks and possible solutions. The following duties and responsibilities apply:
- Will be expected to keep supervisor and business area individuals informed of assignment status by initiating face-to-face communication and participation in one-on-one and group meetings.
- Evaluate user requests for new functions or modifications to existing systems to determine feasibility and time required to complete the request. Interviews users to identify current operating procedures and to confirm requirements.
- May conduct feasibility studies, including gathering facts, analyzing business requirements, analyzing data, and preparing solution overviews that compare alternatives in terms of cost, time and complexity.
- Develop functional design to review with users and I/S management for approval.
- Develop technical design required to implement requirements. Prepare flowcharts to illustrate sequence of steps and process flow required to complete the assignment.
- Develop program logic to implement approved design elements.
- May be expected to provide off-hours support to implement changes when users are not using the systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive personal and company materials and information.
Education and Experience:
- 4-year degree in related field desired.
- A minimum 5 years of experience working with Enterprise Human Resources, Benefits and Payroll systems.
- A significant software development background.
- Business systems knowledge required, including Benefits, Human Resources and Payroll.
- Exposure to Sarbanes Oxley controls covering software life cycle management is desired
- Possesses a high degree of knowledge and understanding of the software development life cycle and skills in the following areas:
- Program logic development
- Problem solving
- Peoplesoft Application security
- Peoplesoft PeopleTools
- SQR, App Engine programming languages, Peoplesoft query tools
- Oracle and SQL Server databases
- Creation of technical and user test plans
Language Skills:
- Must have the ability to clearly express ideas.
- Must have good written and oral communication skills.
- Must have good customer service skills.
- Must be able to interact with functional users and I/S professionals.
