We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to joinour team inmanaging and improving CoStar Group's corporate wireless network. In addition, you will work on the network backbone that spans 6 global data centers and 80+ offices worldwide. You are aself-starter,lovethe challenge of solving problems,and are invested in buildingsolutions to help the company scale. You use leading edge hardware,software defined networking and traditional networking to work on a variety of challenging andinnovativeprojects.
This position is located in Arlington, VA or Richmond, VA and is onsite Monday - Thursday, option to work from home on Friday.
Responsibilities
Be the point person that helps troubleshoot, track, and resolve complex Enterprise network issues.
Provide network engineering support for the DevOps, DBA, Systems, Security and Service Desk Teams
Manage and expand coverage of network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, Logic Monitor, PRTG, Nagios, etc
Improves the consistency of the environment using scripting (Python, PowerShell), Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, etc.
Manage a fleet of offices ensuring their stability and conformity with our standards
Maintains and enhances our IPAM (IP Address Management) platform
Learn our Aruba Wi-Fi platform, monitor and make improvements in the US and Europe centers
Comfortable utilizing SEIM tools such as Qradar, Splunk or Azure Sentinel to query data and help various teams troubleshoot issues.
Participate in new office designs to help us keep track with company growth, typically 400+ employees
Implement and support our Palo Alto Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN), 40+ locations.
Work with various networking technologies including but not limited to: o Firewalls -Palo Alto, CheckPoint, AWS Security Groups
o Cisco Nexus switches - 9Ks, 7Ks, 5Ks, 3Ks, FEXs
o Load balancers and traffic managers - F5 BIGIP LTM and GTM, Akamai
o SSL VPN solutions - Palo Alto, Junos Pulse, CheckPoint, Zscaler ZPA
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college (preferably in Computer Science, Computer Technology, MIS or related field)
A track record of commitment to prior employers
5+ years of relevant experience in networking not limited to: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, QoS, SNMP, VoIP, Firewalling, Load Balancing, Wireless, ACI, Python
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
One or more relevant certifications such as PCNSE, PCSNA, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCSA, CCSE, etc.
Supporting enterprise Wi-Fi over LAN and WAN environments (preferably Aruba)
Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Cisco network devices.
Working in environments with >5,000 end points (VMs, workstations, etc)
Experience with internal and external DNS and global DNS
Experience with IP Address Management (IPAM) systems such as InfoBlox, Solarwinds, etc.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, AppDynamics, Nagios, Data Dog, PRTG
Experience in local and global traffic management and load balancing solutions such as F5
Network security experience including device hardening, IDS/IPS, SIEM, Firewalls, IPSec, vulnerability assessment and intrusion detection.
Experience in network protocol analyzers/sniffers.
Knowledge of all types of circuits - P2P, Dark and Lit Fiber, MPLS, WAN, MAN, PRIs
Knowledge of heterogeneous networking components along with in depth knowledge of routing/ switching.
