Brightpoint Community College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Endpoint Engineer to provide engineering support for the College's Microsoft Windows and Office 365 environments. This role will provide Tier 2 and 3 technical support, assistance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, testing, and maintenance of software, hardware, and peripherals for computer labs, and staff and faculty computers. The incumbent will perform intermediate to moderately advanced duties supporting desktop hardware and software, with an emphasis on the automated deployment of security-related software and complex desktop applications.
Responsibilities include coordinating and maintaining large-scale enterprise desktop software deployments, including antivirus updates, application and OS patches, and hotfixes. Additional duties include testing and upgrading commercial and custom software, application repackaging, PC image creation, daily image maintenance, validation, and scripting.
This position requires strong collaboration with the Client Services team and college stakeholders, making communication and teamwork essential. Broad technical knowledge is needed, with an emphasis on software. The role requires independent problem-solving within established procedures and includes writing procedures, white papers, and documentation.
The role will also provide day-to-day desktop security analysis through technical reviews, scans, risk assessments, and reporting, and contributions to the development of college-wide security policies. Periodic assignments will include research and testing of emerging technologies.
Minimum Qualifications:
College Degree in Information Systems or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and experience
Experience in installation, maintenance and testing of twisted pair Ethernet wiring and connections.
Security + certification or equivalent.
Experience working with desktop/server virtualization technology.

- Extensive knowledge of personal computers, operating systems, peripheral devices, and desktop computer applications, including Windows current versions, Windows Server current versions and Microsoft M365.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of network technologies and supporting applications, including MS Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager and Microsoft Intune in a multi-protocol, multi-platform TCP/IP environment.
- Working knowledge of local area networks, including Telecommunications Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and its application in a large WAN/LAN environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration and troubleshooting procedures.
- Working knowledge of deploying Windows updates through Microsoft WSUS or Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager SUP and Microsoft Intune and JAMF.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows latest versions client and server operating systems and supporting applications in a TCP/IP environment.
- Ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair desktop computers, operating systems, and peripheral devices, including replacement of memory modules, disk drives, and motherboards.
- Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft Office latest versions, Microsoft Outlook, and other software in a LAN/WAN environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting day-to-day needs and periodic deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively at a technical and also end-user level both orally and in writing.
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Windows Registry, Microsoft Group Policy Management, and Windows Security.
- Advanced knowledge of software and patch deployment utilizing Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager.
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise antivirus program and management.
- Advanced knowledge of operating system deployment utilizing Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, Microsoft, System Center Configuration Manager, or Windows Deployment Services.
- Working knowledge of scripting languages including PowerShell.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM technical guides.
- Proven ability to conduct research into complex technical issues and products as required.
- Ability to work independently and to prioritize and execute complex technical and administrative tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
