At CoBank, we are on the lookout for DevOps Engineers who share our zeal for crafting state-of-the-art products through advanced automation across AWS and on-premises infrastructure, while also embracing cutting-edge technologies.
As a DevOps Engineer at CoBank, you will be responsible for managing CoBank's AWS footprints through Infrastructure as Code and Pipeline as Code, with strong experience in IBM I and PowerSystems. Additional experience in ACBS or NetApp and storage management is a plus. You will play a critical role in automating and optimizing our infrastructure to ensure smooth deployment and operation of our applications. The ideal candidate excels at collaborating across teams, implementing Infrastructure as Code and Pipeline as Code practices, and leading strategic projects while ensuring high availability and performance of enterprise systems.
Essential Functions:
1. Administers, configures, and troubleshoots IBM PowerSystems IBMi.
2. Designs, implements, and manages cloud infrastructure in AWS using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
3. Engineers automated solutions, including continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines while leveraging GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps. Implements automated testing practices to ensure software quality. Focuses on monitoring and observability to maintain robust systems.
4. Performs patch management, capacity planning, disaster recovery testing, and system upgrades.
5. Develops solutions that enhance quality, delivery speed, and efficiency. Prioritizes automation technologies to improve customer and employee experiences.
6. Learns and implements new automation technologies by analyzing technical specifications. Builds and configures supporting infrastructure while adhering to security best practices.
7. Collaborates with program owners and business units to implement enhancements. Contributes to automation portfolios and participate in weekly discussions. Implements best practices across the organization.
8. Provides mentorship to junior administrators and leads key infrastructure initiatives.
9. Resolves production issues promptly, engaging IT and vendors as needed. Provides workday and after-hours support, including troubleshooting and problem correction.

1. Advanced knowledge in the use of storage monitoring tools.
2. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Cloudformation.
3. Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
4. Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or Powershell.
5. Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
6. Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools.
7. Any AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform certification (developer, solution architect, networking, infrastructure) preferred.
8. Experience in banking or financial services industry preferred.
9. 24/7 on-call support and occasional travel required
10. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
11. Ability to apply independent judgement on most decisions, and to work with minimal guidance.
12. Routinely uses significant judgement on moderate-to-complex business problems.
13. Strong collaboration skills across departments.
14. Demonstrates strategic thinking.
