Description: Our client is currently seeking a Design and Analysis Engineer 3

Position Title: Design and Analysis Electrical Engineer 3

Location: Hazelwood, MO

Duration: 12 Months

Overview

This role supports the design, integration, and testing of electrical systems for maintenance equipment interfacing with aircraft subsystems, instrumentation networks, and computing hardware. The engineer will contribute to the full lifecycle of the Configuration Management and Control System (CMCS), supporting platform and weapon system development, sustainment, and readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and document electrical system designs, schematics, and interface specifications
  • Support hardware/software integration and verification for CMCS systems
  • Design electrical wiring and connections for test articles and sub-assemblies
  • Select and specify electrical components (cables, connectors, shielding, terminal blocks)
  • Collaborate with lab and flight test teams for installation and instrumentation support
  • Conduct system requirements analysis, selloff, and test planning
  • Resolve issues related to fielded hardware/software across the product lifecycle
  • Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (DOORS, Cameo) for architecture definition and trade studies
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with system integration requirements
  • Research emerging technologies for potential application to future systems

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical avionics system design, including:
    • Electrical subsystem and interface cable design
    • Hardware/software integration and lab testing
    • Vendor coordination for part selection
  • Familiarity with VPX/VME form factors
  • Working knowledge of communication protocols and standards: RS422/RS232, PC104, TCP/IP, Ethernet, IEEE-488, MMSI, MIL-STD-1553
  • Domain expertise in air vehicle or weapons systems
  • Experience in product/system development and integration

Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles or relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+)
  • Experience in network design and infrastructure
  • Familiarity with military standards: MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1472
  • Proficiency in CAD tools and electrical schematic creation
  • Experience with systems engineering tools and metrics (DOORS, Cameo, Earned Value Management)
  • Hands-on experience with MBSE methodologies
