Job description:

  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience administering and supporting the IBMz job scheduling software in a large batch environment.
  • Must possess an excellent understanding and knowledge of JCL/REXX/VSAM/IBM Utilities such as IEBCOPY, IEBGENER, etc., as well as the TWS functions of conditional and remote dependencies, AJR, SET, and SCAN statements or similar functions of other Mainframe Schedulers such as CA7 or Control-M.
  • Must also understand the use and application of the various databases within the scheduling software.
  • Incumbent is required to understand initailization parameters and their affect regarding functionality of the scheduling software.
  • Must be able to maintain and implement various automated processes via integration points to the scheduling software.
  • This position will respond to technical questions from clients regarding all aspects of the scheduling software and its capabilities and will lead technology projects/teams.
  • The incumbent will represent the Job Scheduling service in meetings and must have the capacity to think strategically and devise strategies to meet client requirements and challenges.
  • Incumbent must be able to resolve all recovery issues regarding the TWS/z current and long term plan databases while ensuing the integrity of the daily batch cycle.
  • Must ascertain through research and knowledge the scope of issues and understand the impact while deciding and taking corrective actions in high risk circumstances.
  • The candidate leads and/or participates in the design, development, and implementation of complex system engineering activities involving cross-functional technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities.
  • Responsible for components of highly complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities.
  • Establishes input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility, coordination of subsystems design, and integration of total system.
  • Viewed as a technology subject matter expert; able to provide and communicate complex technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and/or vendors.
  • Will have responsibility for multiple, complex projects; will direct activities of teams related to special initiatives or operations and may have direct reports.
  • Leads the resolution process for complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. Information Technology degree and/or technology certifications preferred or substantial equivalent experience. This position will be required to provide 24x7 support.
