Job Description

We are seeking a Wireless Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting and maintaining a robust wireless infrastructure across hospital and clinical locations, ensuring seamless connectivity for critical medical operations and end-user devices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional IT teams, engineers, and clinical staff to deliver high-quality wireless network support in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct wireless site surveys using Ekahau software to ensure optimal coverage and performance.
    • Using Ekahau Sidekick for site survey & validations
    • Troubleshooting user WIFI issues
      • Bad coverage / Bad settings in their personal device
      • Defective APs that need restarted or replaced
    • Documenting Aruba Airwave with AP placements/locations
    • Migrating sites from Cisco APs to Aruba APs
    • Building performance reporting/monitoring metrics for WIFi performance
    • Clearpass policy/role configuration & troubleshooting
  • Aruba WIFI environment (~5000 APs / 20 Controllers) with some very old Cisco mixed in (~ 450 APs)
  • Understanding WIFi authentication with eap-peap / eap-tls / psk would be valuable
  • Troubleshoot and resolve wireless connectivity issues across various end-user devices including iPhones and Nurse Carts on Wheels.
  • Provide on-site support at hospitals and clinics throughout the Louisville area and potentially Indiana locations.
  • Assist in maintaining and supporting HPe wireless access points, controllers, and related infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and support teams on complex issues and ClearPass-related configurations (if applicable).

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting enterprise wireless environments.
  • Proficiency in wireless network support, especially within HPe environments or comparable platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Ekahau wireless surveying tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to enterprise wireless networks and end-user connectivity.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, especially in a healthcare or high-demand setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HPe ClearPass or similar network access control platforms.
  • Prior experience working in a healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with wireless network design, implementation, and performance tuning.
  • Certifications such as CWNA, CWDP, or vendor-specific wireless credentials are a plus.
