Job Summary: The DLP Platform Migration Specialist will support the transition of Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) solutions to a new technology platform. This role focuses on migrating, optimizing, and maintaining DLP control rulesets, ensuring accurate enforcement of data protection policies. The ideal candidate will have experience in DLP ruleset management, data security protocols, and handling complex DLP platform migrations. Key Responsibilities: DLP Control Ruleset Migration: Support migration of DLP control rulesets from the existing platform to the new platform. Ensure accurate mapping and transfer of data identification, classification, and monitoring rulesets. Review and validate existing rulesets, recommending improvements for enhanced detection and protection. Collaborate with business stakeholders to adapt rulesets to organizational data protection requirements. DLP Control Ruleset Optimization: Evaluate and refine existing rulesets for proper configuration and alignment with organizational goals. Develop and test new ruleset templates for enhanced security and compliance. Optimize rulesets to minimize false positives and maximize accuracy of DLP alerts. Collaboration and Communication: Work with DLP engineers and stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of rulesets into the new platform. Provide guidance on enforcement, data classification, and monitoring post-migration. Collaborate with incident response teams to monitor ruleset effectiveness after migration. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all rulesets comply with relevant data protection laws, industry regulations, and organizational standards. Create detailed reports documenting migration processes, ruleset configurations, testing results, and changes. Training and Documentation: Develop comprehensive documentation for all DLP rulesets, including configurations and migration steps. Conduct training sessions for security teams and stakeholders on ruleset management in the new platform. Testing and Validation: Perform thorough testing and validation of rulesets post-migration to ensure proper enforcement and detection. Address issues related to ruleset execution or migration gaps. Required Skills: 35 years of experience in DLP control ruleset management and implementation. Proven experience with DLP platform migration or large-scale IT security migrations. Familiarity with DLP platforms such as Symantec, McAfee, Digital Guardian, Forcepoint, and cloud-based DLP solutions. Strong understanding of data security and data protection best practices. Hands-on experience creating, modifying, and migrating DLP control rulesets. Ability to troubleshoot and optimize rulesets for maximum data protection and minimal disruptions. Strong analytical skills for interpreting data, detecting risks, and optimizing security rulesets. Proficiency in scripting or automation tools for DLP ruleset management (e.g., PowerShell, Python). Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and technical guidance. Preferred Skills: Experience with cloud-based DLP solutions and integrations (Microsoft 365, AWS, Google Workspace). Knowledge of advanced DLP techniques such as content inspection, behavioral analysis, and machine learning-based detection. Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related technical field preferred.
