Job Description Summary
The Senior Engineering Budget Leader will be responsible for establishing, maintaining and facilitating standard work for the execution of the Wind Engineering Financial Operating Plan.

This role involves developing standard operating procedures, operating rhythms, dashboards and KPIs for effective budget management, performance monitoring and risk management. This leader will collaborate with operations partners, finance, program managers and engineering teams to set and achieve annual operating plans across the engineering portfolio. They will be responsible for a team of contractor PO requisitioners and will provide coaching and mentoring to lead operations specialist to achieve the collective goals of the team.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead standard work for execution of the Financial Operating Plan of One Wind Engineering portfolio; including OPEX/SW&L, CAPEX and Overhead budgets.
  • Support annual business planning process (Strategy to Operating Plan) by establishing and leading standard work to forecast and plan funding needs aligned with program and portfolio objectives.
  • Lead creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures, tools and resources to support accurate forecasting and consistent execution of portfolio and program level budgets.
  • Establish operating rhythms, dashboards and KPIs to monitor budget performance and manage risks effectively.
  • Partner with operations colleagues, finance, program managers and engineering teams to achieve quarterly and annual engineering operating budgets.
  • Improve standard work & efficiency of Engineering Purchase Orders (POs) and contractor management processes.
  • Support decision making by providing data analytics, historical trends, prioritization and tradeoff recommendations across the engineering portfolio.
  • Oversee engineering operations portfolios; ex. sustaining programs, labs, computing, IP, contractor
  • Oversee transactional purchasing process including facilitating PO approval operating rhythm.
  • Train and mentor lead operations specialists, program managers, engineering team on budget management and purchasing process standard operating procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Program Management, Engineering or Engineering Operations

Desired Characteristics
  • Experience in financial planning and budget management in an engineering or technology development environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Proficient in data analytics platforms (e.g., Smartsheet, Tableau, Excel).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to influence decision-making at senior leadership levels.
  • Experience with engineering product development process; preferably in Wind Industry

The base pay range for this position is 111,200.00 - 148,300.00 USD Annual The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonvariable incentive compensation/equity.
