Duties And Responsibilities

  • Designs analog signal conditioning, microprocessor interface, and communication and control circuits for data acquisition products within established timeframes.
  • Performs hands-on laboratory engineering work validating the designs.
  • Writes design and specification documents, test plans, and progress reports.
  • Documents designs using CAD schematic capture software.
  • Participates in design reviews and in the proper release of design documents.
  • Supports the internal RF Lab test design and activities.
  • Supports PCB designs including layout and routing as needed.
  • Provide support to DTS Technical Support staff.
  • Support Electrical Engineering Department with statistical analysis, as needed.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as requested by DTS management.
  • Establishes self as a subject matter expert for certain key design areas, such as filtering, ENOB, noise reduction, etc.
  • Collaborates with team members to resolve heat transfer issues in new designs.
  • Coordinates with technicians, software developers, and consultant staff as needed.

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or similar discipline and substantial related experience (approx. 10+ years) in an electronics design role is necessary. Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) is a plus.
  • Analog design experience including power supplies, signal conditioning, filters, ADC and DAC, as well as, digital design experience including microprocessor interface to logic and memory, control with PLD and PGA devices, and synchronous serial communications are necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to use simulation tools (Matlab and LT-Spice) and schematic capture for new project design is necessary.
  • Previous experience with PCB fabrication specification and layout is preferred. Experience designing for manufacturability, testability and serviceability is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Mil and Industrial standards used in a formal documentation structure, as well as knowledge of mechanical packaging is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to appropriately address and document details, simultaneously manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with other individuals/departments is necessary. The ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in a professional, diplomatic manner is also necessary.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using various computer programs, such as, Windows 7/8/10, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Access, and Acrobat (PDF), as well as the ability to use a variety of specialty tools is necessary.
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check.
