Job Title: Linux System Admin
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 12+ Months


Position Summary:

Responsible for installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining Linux, Windows, and application systems supporting infrastructure and R&D. Focus on system stability, performance, security, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineer system administration solutions for projects and operations.

  • Install/rebuild servers; configure hardware, storage, virtualization (VMware, KVM), and network equipment (Cisco, Mellanox).

  • Support automation tools (Ansible), deployment (Foreman), system inventory (GLPI), and storage management (NetApp, Dell/EMC).

  • Manage security patches, system monitoring, backups, user accounts, and Tier III support.

  • Maintain and upgrade OS, infrastructure software (Jira, Git, LDAP, Jenkins), and perform performance tuning.

  • Provide after-hours support as needed.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years Linux system administration experience with strong VMware, Jenkins, Git, and DevOps tool skills.

  • Certifications preferred: CompTIA Linux+, RHCSA/RHCE, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent.

  • Experience with Cisco network management and web technologies (SSL, reverse proxy).

  • Self-starter with strong multitasking and communication skills.

  • Physically able to handle server moves and rack installations.
