Okta Engineer @ Alameda, CA 94502 (Onsite, Preferred/First Option), CA based (2nd)
Contract (C2C)
Looking for seasoned OKTA Engineer at a senior/architect level but has flexibility to provide OKTA support to end users. Should be able to drive customer initiatives single handedly through deep technical expertise and understanding of the eco system. Should be able to go beyond LOB to meet customer expectations and gain customer confidence. Bachelor s Degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Experience/Skills
Five (5) years of experience in developing Okta Workflows, Identity Governance (IGA) and a minimum of Two (2) years of experience in Okta IGA
Ten (10) years relevant experience of Okta Integrations: Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Must have obtained Okta Certification - Professional, Administrator, Consultant or Technical Architect
Implementation of Okta integrations (SAML, OIDC, etc); Okta Administration and Configuration
Experience with other IAM solutions beyond Okta; Knowledge of Cloud Security principles and best practices (AWS, Azure, etc.)
Understanding of identity federation protocols such as SAML, OAuth, SCIM and OpenID Connect
Experience with Okta API integrations and System Administration
Troubleshooting and providing ongoing support and troubleshooting for Okta IAM solutions with application owners and end users
Providing technical expertise and guidance on Okta best practices, security standards, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).
Configure advanced policies for SSO, MFA, contextual access, and risk-based authentication
Monitor system health, resolve issues, and optimize Okta performance and reliability
Evaluate new IAM technologies to enhance the Okta ecosystem and improve security posture
Developing and maintaining documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and operational procedures
Perform feasibility analyses and provide recommendations for future system enhancements
Guide and mentor junior engineers on Okta implementation, IAM best practices, and secure design principles
Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive customer initiatives with technical expertise
Team player, Critical thinker; Good time-management, interpersonal and communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Flexible to work occasionally after-hours and/or weekend work based on mission priorities
