EDI Developer _ Remote
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain EDI transaction processing systems (e.g., 837, 835, 834, 270/271, 276/277).
- Lead integration efforts with providers, clearinghouses, and internal systems using X12 standards.
- Collaborate with business analysts, compliance teams, and operations to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and other regulatory standards related to EDI transactions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot EDI transaction flows, resolving errors and improving reliability.
- Develop and maintain mapping specifications, translation logic, and validation rules.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to EDI best practices and documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in EDI development and integration within the healthcare payor domain.
- Strong understanding of ANSI X12 standards and healthcare-specific transactions (837, 835, 834, etc.).
- Experience with EDI tools and platforms (e.g., Edifecs, IBM Sterling, BizTalk, Mirth Connect).
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, SQL).
- Familiarity with healthcare payor workflows including claims adjudication, member enrollment, and eligibility verification.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and data security best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based EDI solutions and API-based data exchange.
- Knowledge of FHIR and emerging interoperability standards.
- Experience with payer-provider collaboration platforms and HIEs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Certification in EDI or healthcare data exchange technologies.
