Job Title: Software Engineer Project Lead

Location: Columbia, SC 29201 (Onsite, 5 days/week)
Duration: 12 Months (Contract)


Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer Project Lead with strong experience in Microsoft System Center Service Manager (SCSM) administration and related technologies. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining System Center infrastructure, developing new service requests, and creating automated workflows using System Center Orchestrator. This role requires expertise in managing and improving IT service management environments, strong communication skills, and hands-on technical leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and enhance the System Center Service Manager environment.

  • Collaborate with business units to gather and refine requirements for Service Manager requests.

  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot System Center Orchestrator workflows.

  • Support and maintain the Cireson Web Portal, including software updates and custom JavaScript modifications.

  • Apply updates, patches, and configurations to System Center, Orchestrator, and Cireson environments.

  • Coordinate with technical staff, business stakeholders, and vendors to manage service requests and deliver system improvements.

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Point of Contact (POC) for Service Manager processes.

  • Make recommendations to improve efficiency, reporting, and operational productivity.

  • Lead initiatives to migrate existing Service Manager environments to updated standards.

  • Provide occasional after-hours support for projects and maintenance activities.

  • Microsoft System Center Service Manager (SCSM)

  • System Center Orchestrator

  • Cireson Web Portal

  • Active Directory & Windows Server

  • JavaScript, PowerShell, HTML, XML, and SQL

  • IT Infrastructure and Server Operations


Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience developing and supporting Microsoft System Center environments.

  • 3+ years of administrative experience with Microsoft Azure.

  • 5+ years of experience administering Microsoft Windows Servers.

  • 3+ years working within a structured IT methodology framework (e.g., ITIL, MITA).

  • Proven ability to manage enterprise-scale infrastructure projects and service delivery processes.


Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience.


Preferred Skills

  • Working knowledge of:

    • System Center Service Manager (SCSM)

    • System Center Orchestrator

    • Cireson Web Portal

    • JavaScript, PowerShell, SQL, HTML, XML, and PowerBI

  • Experience leading large-scale project implementations.

  • Familiarity with healthcare systems, HIPAA, and related data security frameworks.

  • Knowledge of network infrastructure and server frameworks.


Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Server Administration Certifications or related credentials.
