Description

The Cloud Infrastructure Lead is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and optimal performance of cloud-based services. This role involves expertise in cloud environment design, engineering, quality assurance, troubleshooting, database management, security, compliance, backup, disaster recovery, performance optimization, automation, issue resolution, collaboration, and documentation.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Cloud Environment Design and Engineering: Design, engineer, and ensure the quality assurance and testing of cloud environments to meet organizational needs.
  • Cloud Standards and Practices: Apply experienced knowledge of standards, practices, and automation for cloud infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve issues impacting operational systems and services, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Database Management: Manage the organization's databases, including design, installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Cloud Service Selection: Evaluate cloud service providers and select the most appropriate services based on cost, performance, and security considerations.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain robust security measures for both cloud and database environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Ensuring information security by recommending and implementing benchmarks best practices, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, logging, and monitoring, keeping up to date on security threats and mitigation strategies.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve efficiency.
  • Automation: Implement automation and orches tra tion tools to streamline cloud provisioning, database management tasks, and routine maintenance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, network adminis tra tors, and security professionals, to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud-based services and databases.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of cloud configurations, database schemas, policies, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and troubleshooting.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field and nine (9) or more years of total experience ; Masters and seven (7) or PhD and four (4)
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated expertise in cloud infrastructure management.
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), and database management systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB.
  • Strong understanding and experience of networking, security, and data management best practices.
  • Experience with automation and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash is a plus.
  • Industry certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator, or equivalent
  • Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance
