Pay Range: $30 - $35/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Focus on the installation, and cabling within the data halls.
  • Copper and fibers
  • Not only the infrastructure but also the data center space
  • Power within the racks, cooling, etc.
  • Issues, break-fix
  • Commissioning and decommissioning
  • Interacting with the facility maintenance team
  • Monitoring alerts around NOC
  • Oversee/Coordinate IT Infrastructure installation/removal inside the data hall
  • Strong understanding of Compliance impacts on daily work within the NERC-CIP environment
  • Ensure adherence to proper cabling and labeling procedures
  • Assist in Capacity Planning discussions
  • Maintain accurate rack elevations and inventory details
  • Ensure proper inventory of needed supplies/equipment
  • Ordering equipment through Maximo Purchase Orders
  • Serve as point of contact for Shipping/Receiving at Charlotte Data Center locations (CDC/Client/ECC/BCC)
  • Interface with Regional Facilities Maintenance Teams to understand any impacts on Mission Critical Sites
  • Ensure proper scheduling of FM work to minimize business impacts
  • Assist/Serve as Data Center Facilities representative for various Projects and Initiatives
  • Provide timely status updates for project-related activities
  • Routinely update all assigned work within Smart IT/FootPrints
  • Assist with CIOPS HWOS Support
  • Keeps abreast of new hardware and software developments, evaluates alternative approaches, and recommends improvements that will enhance operations

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Technology, Engineering, or other related discipline.
  • In addition to the required degree, one (1) year minimum of related work experience.
  • In lieu of a Bachelor's degree AND one (1) year minimum of the related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND three (3) years minimum related work experience.
  • 1-2 years of practical experience with Operating Systems, Software, and Hardware.
  • 1- 2 years of computer skills, including general usage and support.
  • Ability to thoroughly document work processes, communicate, and adhere to processes.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (listening, conflict management, approachability, negotiations).
  • Ability to effectively prioritize activities and focus team efforts based on priority.
  • Ability to research independently, multi-task, and meet deadlines under tight timeframes.
  • Ability to build working relationships with different levels within the organization.
  • Ability to work effectively in a work plan-driven/team environment.
