Aquinas Consulting is seeking an experienced and business-savvy Revenue Cycle Data Engineer to support one of Connecticut s largest and most complex healthcare systems. This role requires advanced technical expertise in Epic Clarity and SlicerDicer, along with strong interpersonal skills to partner effectively across IT, Finance, and Revenue Cycle operations.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing data assets, supporting operational reporting, and enabling data-driven decision making across the enterprise while serving as a key liaison between technical teams and business leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize reporting solutions using Epic Clarity and SlicerDicer, with a focus on revenue cycle operations (billing, collections, scheduling, etc.).
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Revenue Cycle, and IT to define requirements, validate output, and translate business questions into analytical deliverables.
- Provide subject matter expertise on Epic data models and reporting tools, including Clarity, Reporting Workbench, and SlicerDicer.
- Develop SQL queries, stored procedures, and data extracts to support routine and ad hoc data requests.
- Ensure all deliverables meet internal data governance, security, and compliance standards (HIPAA, audit controls, etc.).
- Contribute to self-service analytics initiatives by enhancing SlicerDicer usability and training end users where appropriate.
- Maintain technical documentation and ensure alignment with enterprise data architecture standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Epic Clarity certification in at least one Revenue Cycle module (e.g., Resolute Professional Billing, Hospital Billing, Cadence, Prelude).
- Hands-on experience with SlicerDicer and proven ability to enable self-service reporting and analytics.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and relational data structures, with the ability to work independently on complex reporting needs.
- Minimum 5 years of healthcare data or reporting experience, with specific focus on Revenue Cycle operations.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with senior leaders, end users, and technical teams.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, enterprise-scale environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills:
- Multiple Epic certifications or experience across multiple Epic modules.
- Familiarity with enterprise reporting environments (e.g., Cogito, Caboodle, Power BI, Tableau).
- Understanding of healthcare reimbursement models, financial KPIs, and value-based care frameworks.
- Experience working within large, matrixed health systems with complex governance and data security requirements.
