Your Opportunity

As a Mechanical Intern, you will work with close guidance and direction on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the direction of a senior engineer. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include Revit design computer-aided design (CAD), calculations, and field work. Candidates should be highly motivated and dependable students who are taking or have taken mechanical engineering design type courses. This is a terrific opportunity for a college student to develop industry experience with an opportunity for a full-time position upon graduation.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Participation in mechanical engineering and design of building HVAC, plumbing and fire protection, systems process piping, pumps, and equipment general arrangements including calculations and layouts.
  • Production of BIM drawings using Revit.
  • Performs field work (evaluation of existing sites) as directed and accompanied by senior engineer.
  • Assists with engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the senior engineering staff.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Ability to draft with basic understanding of Revit CAD or other drafting software, and the use of it as a drafting/design tool.
  • Ability to participate, communicate, and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary project team setting.
  • Ability to take direction, follow process and accept feedback and suggestions from senior engineers.
  • Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite. Prefer experience with Revit.
  • Strong motivation to learn.

Education and Experience
  • Working toward a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, or an equivalent field.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for extended periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

About the Team

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
