Job Description:

Chemical Process Engineer

Expanding and stable chemical manufacturing company is doubling their manufacturing capacity and expanding their team! Join our team of professionals and expand your career! Overview

The Chemical Process Engineer will be responsible for process design, operations and change implementation. Have the capability to assess the potential of and implement process changes to improve process safety, reliability and efficiency, reduce cost and improve sustainability of operations.
Duties / Responsibilities

Assesses the development, configuration and optimization of chemical and associated industrial process modifications, risk assessment, hazard assessment, cost analysis and overall operation impact.

Responsible for troubleshooting operating equipment.

Reviews and revises process documentation as well as provides operator training.

Evaluates, selects, and supervises contractor services, participates in HAZWOP studies, and prepares process flow sheets and P&IDs.

Analyzes data and writes technical reports.

Monitors performance of processes throughout production.

Evaluates equipment and processes to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Awareness of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards

Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Must be able to support a 24x7 operation.

Required Skills / Abilities

Ability to process oral and written information effectively.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with scientific computer software.

Excellent written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.

Experience with data driven process improvement such as Six Sigma.

Awareness of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards.

Must be able to be respirator qualified.

Education and Experience

B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial preferred) or equivalent.

5 years in chemical production environment.

Should have direct chemical production experience with responsibilities for designing and specifying equipment, while meeting environmental and safety regulations.

Experience designing, troubleshooting, and modifying chemical production processes and equipment.

Physical Requirements:

Physical requirements include the ability to climb ladders, enter through confined spaces, and work near hazardous chemicals.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
