Performance Testing Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Charlotte, NC is seeking a highly skilled Performance Testing Engineer to join our quality engineering team. This role is critical in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and responsiveness of our applications and services through comprehensive end-to-end performance testing.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
* 3-6+ years of experience in performance and load testing for web and API-based applications
* The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with JMeter, performance monitoring and visualization tools like Grafana, and observability platforms such as Datadog
* Proficiency in Apache JMeter for test scripting and execution
* Strong experience with Grafana for visualization and Datadog for application performance monitoring (APM)
* Familiarity with system metrics (CPU, memory, I/O, network) and how they relate to performance
* Understanding of modern web architectures, cloud environments (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform), and microservices
* Knowledge of HTTP protocols, REST APIs, and related debugging tools
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong scripting skills in languages such as Shell, Python, or Groovy are a plus
* Experience integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI)
* Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
* Certifications in performance testing or cloud platforms are a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
