Job Details

Our client, located at Vandenberg AFB, is currently in need of a Secret Cleared Optical Solutions Architect for a full-time position. The consultant will be working onsite with customer stakeholders to understand current needs and design a plan to best support their infrastructure. They should have a strong understanding of DWDM and TDM, carrier ethernet architecture, provisioning, and implementation. They will be developing test plans for the customers network architecture, interoperability, and security of systems then making recommendations based on those tests to implement the Ciena product line. They will support the deployment of said enhancements in Layer-0, Layer 1 and Layer-2 process configurations.

Required Skills:

  • Active DoD Secret or higher clearance (Top-Secret is a plus)
  • Ability to go onsite daily at Vandenberg AFB
  • SME level knowledge in the optical networking space and experience designing and architecting optical solutions
  • Experience with Ciena products is preferred, but Juniper or Cisco experience in the optical space would be a substitute
  • Strong knowledge of DWDM and TDM
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Layer-0, Layer-1, Layer-2, BGP, MPLS, L3VPN, ISIS
  • Ability to provide tier 3 and 4 support around any troubleshooting, installation or implementation needs
  • Strong understanding of SONET, ROADM (and other OADM configurations) architecture, provisioning, and implementation
    Preferred or Nice to Have Skills:
    • Project+ or Scrum Master certification
    • Any networking certifications are a plus
