Job Details

Job Title: Automotive Seating Engineer

Location: Irvine, CA 92606 (On-site)

Duration: Fulltime

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience from Seating Tier-1 company or automotive OEM
  • Hands experience in automotive seat system and seat components e.g. Foam, trim, Plastic
  • Experience from OEM, Adient , Lear, and Magna
  • Ability to design Seat structure including cushion frame, back frame and mechanisms
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and certification requirements for seating system
  • Maintain and develop Design Validation Plans (DVP), and Design Failure Mode Analysis (DFMEA)
  • Good knowledge of seating system manufacturing processes e.g. Stamping, Foaming, Welding,
  • Create seating layouts, BOM and manage product issues during development
  • Focus on design improvement approaches including cost reduction and design optimization
  • Interpret CAE simulation results and integrate recommendations into product design
  • Collaborate with seat part suppliers and support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events
  • Experience in creating 3D designs and 2D drawings (e.g. CATIA V6 only)
