We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Data Center Technician to join our team. This role involves assisting in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of data center infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of IT systems, networking, and hardware installation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, network equipment, and other data center hardware.
- Monitor system performance and report any issues to senior technicians.
- Perform routine maintenance, including software updates and hardware inspections.
- Ensure proper cable management and organization within the data center.
- Support troubleshooting efforts for network and server-related issues.
- Maintain security protocols and ensure compliance with data center policies.
- Document procedures, configurations, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with IT teams to optimize data center operations.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Basic understanding of networking, server hardware, and data center operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ are a plus.
Work Environment:
- Data center setting with occasional travel to other locations.
- Physical requirements include lifting and installing hardware components.
- May require working outside regular business hours for maintenance and troubleshooting.
