Job Description:

Would you like to contribute to bring advanced visualization technologies into human clinical surgery? Ethicon strives to provide next-generation visualization technologies in minimally invasive surgery to benefit surgeons and patients around the world! Joining us, you will be the manager of an outstanding team within data science, tissue optics and software development. You will develop visualization products in a combination of 1) maturing technology feasibility pipelines in a dynamic, fast-paced and innovative environment 2) pushing pipelines towards market launch in a structured medical device design control environment.

This position is located on-site in Raritan, New Jersey, USA where the team is establishing laboratory development and testing facilities. There will be opportunities and expectations of domestic and international travel.

Key Responsibilities:

Working with the Director of Advanced Visualization technologies the key responsibilities are:

Continuous development of team members, including performance management, recruitment, task prioritization and support individuals to improve their current performance and future potential through coaching and individual career opportunities.

Serve as a technical leader and work with cross-functional partners to guide program decision making.

Understand customer needs and translate those into technology and product roadmaps.

Transition the advanced visualization technology from feasibility stage into medical device product development.

Work with external collaborators and suppliers to mature product development towards launch.

The candidate will work with the team in an agile and scaled agile development environment and collaborate with other Advanced Visualization program groups.
Qualifications

Qualifications

Education:

A master's degree in engineering is required.

Experience and Skills:

Required :

Experience within optics, data analytics and image processing.

Must have 4 or more years of team management experience.

Experience with working in a fast-paced innovative environment.

Experience from product development in a regulated environment (medical device, automotive or similar).

Experience with reading and understanding scientific publications and applying described methods to solve development tasks and challenges.

Great communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience working with contractors and external suppliers.

Preferred :

PhD or similar advanced degree.

Understanding of minimally invasive surgical procedures and the basics of endoscopic visualization.

Experience with ex-vivo hands-on laboratory work and testing.

Software Engineering and programming skills.

Other:

Up to 20% domestic and international travel

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $113,000 to $195,500. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
