In this position...

This on-site role is very important to ensuring seamless, fast-paced, and smooth management of CVM testing and validation activities. The High Voltage Battery Cell Vent Management (CVM) Technician is responsible for building CVM-related components, packs, and instrumentation for Devices-Under-Test (DUT's). The CVM Technician will work with engineers to assist with pack testing, bench array testing, and other testing needs related to HV battery CVM strategy development.

What you'll do...
  • Work with CVM systems engineers, CVM component engineers, CVM build coordinator, and CVM Technical Specialists to build or procure CVM components to specification for support of component, jig, array, and pack-level testing.
  • Components may include (but not limited to) cell thermal barriers, battery thermal covers and/or blankets, plastic components and assemblies, metallic components, and assemblies.
  • Instrument CVM DUT's (arrays, packs, test-jigs, etc.) as specified by CVM system engineer, CVM component engineer, and/or CVM Technical Specialists.
  • Support the management of CVM part inventory and part procurement process.
  • Support post-test teardown of CVM DUT's.
  • Become at least HV level 2 certified.
  • Maintain CVM-related workspace cleanliness and organization.
  • Support other teams within Electrified Powertrain Engineering (EPE) as requested and approved by supervisor.


You'll have...
  • Experience working as a technician within HV battery systems and/or components. Experience could include (but not limited to) cell, array, HV battery pack and HV battery electronics.
  • Certified to work in HV system.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite tools.
  • Must have clear communication skills.

Even better, you may have...
  • 5+ years of experience as a technician within HV battery system and/or components.
  • 3+ years of experience with test setup (e.g., thermo-couple installation, sensor installation, etc.)
  • Experience with part ordering.
