Organization:
SHSO-Sutter Health System Office-Valley

Position Overview:
Works autonomously within diverse settings and situations to manage and support the implementation of various complex projects related to energy sourcing, energy efficiency and sustainability efforts, analytics-based smart building solutions, and operations-driven engineering support and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design guidelines. Educates and communicates with leadership on the capital and operational financial needs to support energy efficiency and infrastructure upgrades. Oversees management of energy reduction and utility cost savings initiatives, energy procurement initiatives, and energy analytics. Develops and supports implementation of energy procurement strategies. With the facility management and planning teams, implements engineering designed to standardize and align building life-cycle impacted infrastructure. Supports and leads sustainability reporting, initiatives, and efforts and chairs committees. Identifies and promotes energy and sustainability opportunities to senior leadership.

Job Description:

EDUCATION:

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • Master's: Engineering or related field

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
  • PEL-Professional Engineer License
  • DL-California Drivers Class C or B or D
  • AUTO-Automobile Insurance
  • CEM-Certified Energy Manager

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
  • 6 years recent relevant experience

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • In-depth knowledge of energy markets and procurement principles.
  • In-depth familiarity with the energy management field's principles, theories, concepts, practices, processes and procedures, including plug load optimization, heat recovery, heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) replacements and sources of renewable energy.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering design standards and best practices and building lifecycle analysis
  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability processes and regulation
  • General knowledge of licensing requirements and Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) permitting requirements. General knowledge of real estate energy accounting practices.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, solid interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities and work group facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated human resource management skills including the ability to attract, retain, motivate, develop and manage performance of staff. Demonstrated negotiation skills balancing attention to details with an ability to operate strategically.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to initiate and maintain clear communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, delegate tasks, manage and balance multiple interests, and resolve conflicts. Consultative skills to gather needs and translate requests into potential solutions.
  • Client relationship management skills to maintain positive relations between facility planning and affiliate leadership. Skills in identifying, researching/ analyzing and creatively resolving problems.

Pay Range is $77.70 to $124.32 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
