Business Analyst - Enterprise Data & Analytics
Location: Hybrid, 1-2 days onsite (Hawai'i-based candidates preferred)
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to lead requirements gathering and process documentation for a critical analytics and software initiative with a local utility organization. This role will focus on supporting Independent Power Producers (IPPs) through a Databricks-centric solution for Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) calculations and enhancing systems related to Invoice Management. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in data and analytics projects, with hands-on familiarity in Azure and Databricks environments.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in data and analytics projects, with hands-on familiarity in Azure and Databricks environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, clarify, and document requirements.
- Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for development and data engineering teams.
- Ensure solution alignment with Azure and Databricks architecture.
- Create and manage backlog items, user stories, acceptance criteria, and testing requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, requirements sessions, and solution walkthroughs.
- Act as a liaison between business and technical teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Maintain traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support change management and training efforts for new analytics solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in software development or data/analytics projects (application development experience preferred).
- Hands-on knowledge of data platforms, especially Azure and/or Databricks.
- Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, BI/reporting tools, and analytics workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to write user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps or ServiceNow.
