Join Jack Henry, a company known for its outstanding culture and employee-first values, as a Sr. DevOps Engineer on the Technology Payments Operations team. This role specializes in bringing automation to all areas of technical operations for Payments SaaS platforms. You'll drive innovation in cloud-based release processes-particularly for CPS and EPS platforms-by developing and refining automations that enhance efficiency and scalability. Key responsibilities include release automation, infrastructure deployment automation, and writing scripts to support platform operations. A strong understanding of Azure or Google Cloud Platform, and how to automate changes within these environments, is essential. You'll also support Octopus-based releases across multiple platforms and contribute to strategic initiatives that shape the future of our DevOps practices.

What you'll be responsible for:

Actively participates in all phases of the software development life cycle, including research, prototyping, detailed design, development, technical documentation, and defect fixing.
Contributes to the technical design and implementation of system deployment automation and configuration management tools.
Develops software in appropriate scripting languages using agile design-build-test methodologies.
Configures and maintains container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes to deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications effectively.
Constructs, improves, and maintains the automated deployment pipelines.
Collaborates closely with development, operations, and security teams to foster a culture of collaboration, communication, and knowledge sharing, driving continuous improvement across the organization.
Adheres to organizational standards, policies, and procedures related to software development, security, and compliance.
May perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to have:

7 years of experience in software development, with a strong foundation in modern engineering practices.
Significant experience with Terraform in Google Cloud Platform (preferred) or Azure environments, including creating or modifying Terraform modules.

Experience with GitHub Actions including private runners.

Proficiency in writing PowerShell Scripts featuring modular functions, robust error handling, and structured control flow for reliable automation.

Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code and cloud provisioning.
Willingness to participate in on-call rotations to support critical systems.
Ability to travel occasionally for team meetings, conferences, or other business-related events.

What would be nice for you to have:

Experience working in a Windows-based environment.
Background in high-compliance industries such as FinTech or financial institutions.
Familiarity with GitHub for version control and collaboration.
Understanding of cloud networking concepts and architecture.
Experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation.
Exposure to Go (Golang) programming language.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
