Seeking resumes for a Senior AIX System Administrator responsible for managing a large number of virtualized AIX environments in the Distributed Systems group within the Information Technology department.
Education: 4-yr College Degree preferably in IT Technical/Professional
Skills Required:
Extensive experience with IBM AIX and VIO server
Extensive experience with IBM PowerVM, creation and management of virtual servers, Hardware Management Consoles
Extensive experience with Live Partition Mobility
Extensive experience with NPIV
Extensive experience using SAN disks from multiple SAN vendors
Experience with writing scripts using Korn shell and Perl
Experience with CommVault and IBM Tivoli Monitoring
Experience with troubleshooting software and hardware problems
Experience installing IBM APARs, PTFs, maintenance upgrades
TCP/IP and networking experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong teamwork and customer support focus
Ability to analyze, interpret, and simplify technical information, and clearly communicate this information to target audiences
Skills Preferred:
Experience working with software development technical teams
Experience tuning the AIX environment
Performance management of servers in a virtualized environment
Experience with NIM, IBM Power Linux, Java
Experience working on IBM POWER8, POWER9 and POWER10 server hardware, firmware upgrades
Infiniband, RoCE, and GPFS
WebSphere, IBM MQ
ServiceNow, CMDB and Automation concepts
Ansible
Experience using Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook and other Microsoft Office Suite products
Familiar with IBM DB2, Oracle RAC, MySQL
Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley
Experience required:
6-8 years of enterprise AIX administration in a corporate environment
Working with subject matter experts and users
Responsibilities:
Managing a number of assigned servers and applications, backup on other servers and applications
Standard trouble shooting procedures for hardware and software problems
Software maintenance
Configuration documents
Scheduled 24/7 on-call support
Technical diagrams (server environments, relationship diagrams, workflows, etc.)

The successful candidate will become a member of the Distributed Systems group within the Information Technology Department. The candidate s primary responsibility will be to manage the AIX server infrastructure as part of a team of 6 AIX administrators. Work will primarily be remote, with the ability to come into the office or data center on occasion as required. Interviewing will begin at once.
