Role: Sr. Scrum Master
Duration: 6+ months contract
Location: Hybrid in Plano, TX (3 days onsite)
Description
We are looking for a skilled Scrum Master to join our dynamic team. As a Scrum Master, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating Agile practices across the organization by guiding and coaching multiple teams on their Agile journey. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to Scrum principles and practices, while improving team dynamics and fostering an environment of collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews.
Coach and mentor teams in Scrum practices, enabling effective self-organization and accountability.
Assist Product Owners with backlog grooming and prioritization, ensuring the team has a clear understanding of tasks.
Identify and resolve impediments that may prevent the team from achieving its commitments.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback and fostering an open communication environment.
Provide regular updates and reporting on team progress and performance metrics to stakeholders.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for project initiatives.
Act as a liaison between the development team and external stakeholders to fulfill project goals and objectives.
Facilitate discussions around product vision, goals, and the roadmap to ensure transparency within the team and with stakeholders.
Agile Transformation:
Support the organization's Agile transformation efforts by promoting Agile methodologies and frameworks.
Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance Agile practices across the company.
Requirements
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in a software development environment.
Agile Expertise: Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices, including Scrum, Kanban, and Lean methodologies.
Certifications: Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM) is highly preferred. Additional Agile-related certifications are a plus.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
Team Skills: Proven ability to build relationships, foster teamwork, and motivate team members to achieve success.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying risks and resolving issues.
Tools: Familiarity with Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or other project management software.
