Description

Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Administrator to join our dedicated IT team. This role will start as a contract position and can evolve into an opportunity to join the MNPS team as full time employee if the selected candidate meets standards to do so. This team follows a hybrid work schedule, with a mix of remote and on-site work. However, the contractor position is full-time on-site and does not offer a hybrid schedule. As a System Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and secure operation of MNPS's IT infrastructure

- Manage and maintain server setups, both physical and virtual, to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability. - Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement appropriate solutions to minimize downtime and optimize system efficiency. - Administer and support Microsoft Office 365 (O365) services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive, ensuring smooth collaboration and communication across the organization. - Implement and maintain security measures to protect MNPS's systems, networks, and data., including access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and patch management activities. - Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, promptly resolving IT-related issues and assisting with software and hardware installations. - Create and maintain system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. - Stay up to date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and security trends, and proactively recommend improvements to enhance system performance and security.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
