Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to support the design, implementation, and management of advanced digital infrastructure and data systems for the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program. This critical role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of cutting-edge cloud computing technologies into the development and sustainment of NGAD systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in cloud architecture, DevOps, infrastructure design, classified environments, and digital transformation of aerospace systems, along with a robust track record of technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Architecture Design: Architect and advise scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions to support digital development and operations on NGAD systems.
Digital Infrastructure Management: Support the integration of hybrid cloud environments supporting classified and unclassified systems. Ensure the infrastructure is optimized for system design and mission-critical operations.
Data Systems Strategy: Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for cloud-based data systems that enhance the Customer's capabilities and mission readiness.
Cross-Domain Solutions: Engineer solutions for securely transferring applications and data across multiple operational domains, including building cloud-native architectures for classified environments.
Technical Leadership: Advise senior leadership on cloud architecture feasibility and best practices. Provide technical mentorship to program teams and junior engineers.
Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate existing Customer infrastructure to identify risks, opportunities for improvement, and cost optimization strategies through modern cloud technologies.
Hybrid Cloud Operations: Support the integration of on-premises and cloud resources to maximize operational functionality, including enhanced CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps initiatives.
Accreditation Support: Prepare and support necessary documentation to achieve required Authority to Operate (ATO) approvals for classified environments.
Emerging Technologies: Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies relevant to digital engineering for next-generation aerospace systems.
Cybersecurity Adherence: Ensure architecture compliance with DoD cybersecurity frameworks and policies to maintain the integrity and security of cloud environments.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience:
o Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in Cloud Architecture, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or Software Development.
o Extensive experience with secure development in classified environments and supporting DoD programs.
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in cloud providers such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and scripting languages including Python, C++, or Rust.
In-depth knowledge of containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, or Podman).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, virtualized platforms, and hybrid cloud integration.
Clearance:
Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance required.
U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks, classified network operations, and achieving ATO accreditation.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to brief technical concepts to senior leadership.
Collaboration excellence across various teams, including engineering, security, and program management.
Agile mindset with the ability to adapt to evolving requirements and dynamic operational needs.
