Job Details

The Manager of Benefits Configuration plays a crucial leadership role, driving the precise configuration and ongoing maintenance of our sophisticated benefits administration systems. This role entails comprehensive responsibility for the setup and management of benefits configurations including case installations, group setups, and plan design elements. You will work closely with clients, brokers, and internal teams to ensure that benefits programs are implemented accurately and efficiently, reflecting client needs, policy guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Benefits Configuration Management:
    • Lead the end-to-end configuration processes of benefits modules tailored to client specifications, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory standards.
    • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of benefits data through meticulous case installation and group/plan configuration activities.
    • Conduct comprehensive quality assurance testing to guarantee that configured benefits meet functionality expectations and business requirements.
    • Support clients actively during Open Enrollment periods by overseeing updates and adjustments to benefit offerings and facilitating smooth enrollment experiences.
  • Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Serve as a trusted advisor by collaborating with clients and brokers to gather detailed and nuanced requirements regarding benefit policies, pricing structures, and eligibility criteria.
    • Analyze and translate these requirements into actionable configuration plans that align with both client expectations and system capabilities.
    • Act as the primary liaison for client communication related to benefits configuration, fostering strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Operational Oversight and Compliance:
    • Oversee the benefits administration system s ongoing configuration and updates, ensuring all business rules are accurately translated into system functionality.
    • Play a pivotal role in the system project lifecycle including specification development, configuration, testing, training delivery, and product rollouts.
    • Collaborate closely with Compliance teams to monitor, interpret, and implement new state and federal regulations affecting benefits administration.
    • Lead audit initiatives to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies, driving continuous improvement in program compliance.
  • Project and Change Management:
    • Oversee the timely and effective rollout of system upgrades and introduction of new benefits products, managing cross-functional project teams to accomplish objectives.
    • Coordinate interdepartmental communication to ensure all stakeholders are informed of changes and enhancements impacting benefits programs.
    • Prioritize tasks, track project milestones, and implement strategies to meet delivery deadlines and maintain operational excellence.
  • Leadership and Team Development:
    • Lead the benefits configuration team s daily activities by setting clear goals, monitoring workflow, and fostering an environment of accountability and high performance.
    • Provide coaching and professional development opportunities that enhance team skills and collaboration.
    • Contribute to talent management processes by making informed recommendations on recruiting, promotions, performance evaluations, and compensation adjustments.
