SAP EWM Architect – 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Location: Chicago preferred; open to remote with travel

If you’re a hands-on SAP EWM expert who loves building real solutions instead of sitting in meetings all day, this role is built for you. We’re looking for an SAP EWM Architect who can design, configure, and deliver scalable, high-performance warehouse solutions across multiple sites. This is not a project management role. This is sleeves rolled up, deep-in-the-system solution delivery.

You’ll translate complex warehouse and supply chain operations into SAP EWM designs, work directly with stakeholders, integrate with SAP S/4HANA and automation systems, and lead end-to-end implementations through go-live and hypercare.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, configure, and implement SAP EWM solutions aligned with business requirements and SAP best practices

  • Partner directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate workflows into technical designs

  • Perform hands-on configuration across inbound, outbound, inventory management, labor management, RF framework, and automation integration

  • Collaborate with technical teams to design RICEFW objects and ensure seamless integration with SAP S/4HANA and 3PL/automation platforms

  • Support data migration, unit testing, SIT, UAT, and cutover activities through multi-site go-lives

  • Provide deep-dive troubleshooting and hypercare support for complex issues across the EWM landscape

  • Drive continuous improvements and recommend new EWM features and innovations

  • Mentor junior team members on EWM best practices

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of SAP Supply Chain experience, with 5+ years specifically in SAP EWM

  • Proven hands-on configuration skills with strong SAP S/4HANA integration experience

  • Successful delivery of two or more full lifecycle SAP EWM implementations

  • Strong experience integrating EWM with automated warehouse systems (conveyors, AS/RS, robotics, etc.) and external 3PLs

  • Deep understanding of warehouse operations, including inbound, outbound, inventory, labor management, and VAS

  • Strong cross-module knowledge: PP, TM, QM, FICO

  • Ability to design and document detailed functional and technical specs for development teams

  • Experience supporting global or multi-site warehouse rollouts

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge business, IT, and leadership

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on direct, efficient solution delivery

  • Familiarity with Agile or hybrid methodologies; cloud-based SAP experience preferred

  • SAP EWM certification is a plus
