Job Description:

Platform Administrator

Dell

Remote (must be able to come on-site in Austin or Boston on rare occasions)

12 Month Contact; Can be Extended

Job Summary:

The Platform Administrator will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of the BigID platform and internally developed applications. This role includes hardware support, application upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and ensuring the overall performance and security of the systems.

Key Responsibilities:

BigID Platform Support:

Administer and maintain the BigID platform, ensuring its availability, performance, and security.

Configure and customize the BigID platform to meet organizational data governance and privacy requirements.

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary updates and patches .

Internally Developed Applications:

Provide administration and support for internally developed applications, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability.

Collaborate with development teams to deploy new features and updates.

Hardware Support:

Manage and maintain hardware infrastructure supporting the applications.

Coordinate with platform team to perform regular hardware upgrades and replacements as needed.

Application Upgrades:

Plan and execute application upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to services.

Test and validate new versions of applications before deployment.

Vulnerability Remediation:

Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in both BigID and internally developed applications.

Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with organizational policies.

Documentation and Training:

Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.

Provide training and support to end-users and stakeholders on the BigID platform and other applications

Must Haves:

1. 8+ Experience with containerization and orchestration with tools like Kubernetes and docker for managing and deploying applications

2. 5-8 years Experience with upgrading vendor products preferably data governance tools

3. 8+ Understanding of system administration and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)

4. 8+ Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases

5. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools

6. Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure, or Google Cloud

Soft-skills:

1. Good communication skills to concisely articulate problems to vendor technical teams and Dell IT teams

2. Strong dedication to get the job done and resolve technical issues in working across teams

Track record of good attendance to meet Dell's work schedule and attend meetings
