Position: Senior Business Process Reengineer
Location: Lansing, MI
Work Arrangement: 12 months (extension possible)

Overview:
The Michigan Department of Education seeks a Senior Business Process Reengineer to enhance and maintain the Consolidated Application within the NexSys platform, supporting the distribution of federal formula grants. The role serves as a strategic liaison between OES, internal offices, DTMB, and vendor partners, focusing on process improvement, stakeholder communication, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
· Process Improvement:
o Analyze and document current grant-related business processes.
o Identify and recommend optimization opportunities.
o Evaluate federal policy changes and advise on application updates.
· Stakeholder Management:
o Facilitate meetings with business, technical, and external teams.
o Serve as primary contact for field consultants and communicate issue resolutions.
· Operational & Technical Liaison:
o Manage and prioritize requests and enhancements in Azure DevOps.
o Translate business needs into clear technical requirements.
· Leadership:
o Lead and mentor business analysts.
o Conduct requirement-gathering sessions and ensure project alignment.
· Documentation:
o Maintain detailed documentation on SharePoint.
o Ensure accessibility of process changes and decisions.
Required Qualifications
· 5+ years’ experience with complex IT web applications.
· 5+ years in business analysis, project management, or coordination roles.
· 5+ years working with multiple teams to support processes and training.
· 5+ years leading meetings, trainings, and stakeholder communications.
· 3+ years as liaison between development and business teams.
· 1+ year experience with Azure DevOps (User Stories, Queries).
Highly Desired Skills
· Experience with federal/state/local grant management systems.
· Proficiency with Figma or similar design tools (wireframes/mockups).
· Project management methodology knowledge.
· Microsoft SharePoint proficiency.
