JOB SUMMARY:
Marriott is seeking a visionary technology leader with deep hospitality expertise to transform the guest journey through seamless digital and physical experiences. As Vice President of Mobile Platform Engineering, you will lead the development of mobile solutions that elevate service, personalize engagement, and drive operational excellence across Marriott's global portfolio.
This highly strategic role requires a leader who understands the nuances of hospitality-from on-property operations to loyalty-driven guest interactions-and can translate that knowledge into innovative mobile experiences. You will also champion the integration of Generative AI (GenAI) to enhance personalization, streamline development, and unlock new service capabilities.

The salary range for this position is $177,000 to $280,600 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
Engineering Leadership & Delivery
- Lead the design and delivery of mobile platforms that enhance the end-to-end guest experience, from booking to check-out and beyond.
- Leverage hospitality-specific insights to build mobile solutions that support front desk operations, concierge services, loyalty programs, and in-stay engagement.
- Integrate GenAI technologies to personalize guest interactions, automate content creation, and optimize mobile workflows.
- Define and track KPIs for mobile performance, guest satisfaction, and operational impact.
- Collaborate with UX, architecture, and product teams to ensure mobile solutions align with Marriott's brand standards and service philosophy.
- Promote a platform-first mindset to drive scalability, reusability, and operational efficiency across global properties.
- Communicate complex technical strategies in business terms to senior stakeholders across hospitality, marketing, and operations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Maintain deep knowledge of iOS and Android platforms, with a focus on integrating emerging capabilities into hospitality use cases.
- Apply Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and Google's Material Design principles to create intuitive, brand-aligned mobile experiences.
- Partner with Apple, Google, and GenAI providers to co-develop solutions tailored to the hospitality industry.
- Define and execute a mobile technology strategy that supports Marriott's digital transformation and guest-centric mission.
- Build and lead high-performing engineering teams with a strong focus on hospitality domain knowledge and mobile innovation.
- Collaborate with senior leaders across hotel operations, digital marketing, and loyalty to align mobile strategy with business goals.
- Champion professional development, including upskilling in AI/ML, GenAI, and hospitality technology platforms.
- Stay ahead of industry trends in mobile, GenAI, and hotel technology to inform strategic planning and innovation.
Education, Skills, and Experience
- 12+ years of engineering leadership experience, including significant experience in the hospitality industry or related sectors (e.g., travel, luxury retail, guest services).
- Proven success leading mobile technology teams in building and supporting enterprise-scale systems for customer engagement and operational efficiency.
- Experience integrating GenAI tools and platforms (e.g., LLMs, AI copilots, content generation APIs) into mobile applications and development workflows.
- Deep understanding of hospitality operations, loyalty ecosystems, and digital guest experience design.
- Strong background in agile delivery, coaching, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, build career frameworks, and develop future leaders.
- Skilled in influencing and collaborating across business and technology stakeholders.
- Technical expertise across mobile and full-stack technologies including:
- Native Mobile (Swift, Kotlin)
- Web (React, TypeScript, Node.js, Java)
- BLE, Headless CMS, automation, CI/CD
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Alibaba Cloud)
- GenAI platforms and tools (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, Vertex AI)
- Experience managing budgets of $25M-$50M in direct and indirect costs.
- Preferred experience with IT outsourcing and managed services.
- Graduate or postgraduate degree preferred.
- experiences on a multi-channel stack that spans Mobile Native (Swift, Kotlin), NodeJS, Java, React, TypeScript, BLE, Headless CMS, automation tools deployed via continuous delivery infrastructure in a cloud-based environment (AWS, Azure, Alibaba Cloud).
- Managing budgets in excess of $25 to $50M direct and indirect costs.
- Preferred experience in Hospitality, Retail, and Marketing related technology and capabilities.
- Preferred Experience with knowledge of IT outsourcing in managed services environment.
- Preferred graduate/post graduate degree.
